Verizon FiOS charts plans for 2007
This week, Verizon celebrates the one-year anniversary of its FiOS fiber-optic television service. As part of the announcement, FiOS described some of its plans for year two of the television service.
Verizon now offers FiOS TV service to more than 80 markets in North Texas, California, Florida, Virginia, Massachusetts, and New York. FiOS will continue to expand service availability in these markets, and by the end of the year, FiOS expects to launch TV service in Pennsylvania, Delaware, and New Jersey.
In 2007, FiOS plans to significantly increase the number of high-definition channels and on-demand titles. FiOS also plans to triple its international channel lineup to include more than 50 channels, up from the current 17.
